Sunday in Tavira

Took a leisurely drive to Tavira, a lovely fishing town with castle ruins, many churches and wonderful, quaint old town buildings. A river runs through the town and a ferry shuttles people to a white, sandy beach in the distance (which is really a sand bar). The streets are narrow and wind in and out taking the “White Tornado” (our van) on quite a ride. Beer and Sangria at a river-side restaurant capped a wonderful day!
